Hi. Something different for you. A few years back I wrote a series of poems. I wrote these poems by putting on a piece of music, closing my eyes, and writing until the song ended. I thought you might like something longer to read while you listen. Here’s the first one:

Crushed beneath the weight of the glaciers,
I breathe.
I open my eyes,
And see the light flowing from the ceiling of my glass prison,
Ice encases my heart,
But now the time has come to break it away.
There is warmth flowing from my hands now,
I burst through the ceiling and into the clear gray morning of an arctic landscape.
All is frozen blue and green,
All is ready for my coming.
I cloak myself in robes of blue and green,
Taking on those colors that were my captors as my livery.
I set off south to take revenge on the captors that put me here,
And I raise my head to howl at the moon.
She is gone, of course,
I remember that day well,
But howling is still a respite from the years of silence,
Silence enforced by the crystal tapestries and solid air.
My throat burns with new pain,
I had not realized we gods could feel such pain.
My cry tapers off with a hoarse sob,
And I weep.
A seal approaches me in my misery,
And I accept his sacrifice,
Though it may not have been intended as such,
And finally fresh blood runs down my chin.
And I will grow strong on the blood of my people.

As an extra bonus for getting this far, here’s another Mr. Bungle song that I absolutely love, complete with Gamelan vocals and as many musical “scenes” as I think you’d ever want in a song.
